CHN Foreign Desk- 24 December 2007- Hassan Zohouri- CHTO of Iran announced the results of recent excavations in the historical area of Burnt City. According to this report, at the end of this season of excavation, the number of discovered historical hills reached 450.

 

The discovered hills are scattered within a 25 Km radius from the ancient civilization of the Burnt City.

 

This collection of hills contains a range of hills in different sizes from 200, to 3600 square meters.

 

In case of achieving the approval of Rasool Moosavi Hadji, the new manager of Burnt City CHTO station, excavations and researches will be continued in a new season.

 

Burnt City is believed to be one o the most significant archeological centers of Iran, which is located in 50kms distance of Zaabol.

 

So faar, Iranian archeologists have completed 10 different excavation seasons in this area under the supervision of Mansour Sadjadi.

 

Various seasons of excavation had lead to discovery of many precious historical items and object, including the first artificial eye remained from at least 4000 year ago, which helped archeologist to gain invaluable information about the lifestyle of this ancient civilization.
