Iran Publishes Book on Isfahan

Isfahan: The Heritage of Ahoora

Tehran, June 17, 2010: Iran+s Ahura Publications has recently released a book about the historical city of Isfahan, which has been adorned with eye-catching pictures and illustrations.

Isfahan: The Heritage of Ahoora provides an anthology of Iran+s Isfahan Province in both Persian and English and explores its magnificent architecture and traditional arts and crafts.

A bilingual edition in Persian and English, the book has been written by Dr. Mohammad-Reza Riyazi and Dr. Ismail Salami whose Isfahan Pearl of the World offered a new perspective into the most beautiful city built during the Safavid era, presstv.com reported.

The hardback is adorned by veteran Iranian calligrapher Esrafil Shirchi and features photos by renowned photographer Davoud Vakilzadeh, whose stunning pictures have appeared in numerous Iranalogy books.

The central Iranian city of Isfahan, once the Persian capital, has many historical and cultural attractions including Zoroastrian fire temples and Armenian churches.

The city has not only been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage, but has also been chosen as the cultural capital of the world of Islam.
